(Dec. 16, 2018) – Italy cruised to victory in the first FIL Natural Track Team Relay of the season, beating out a strong Austrian team in two of the three legs of the event.
Evelin Lanthaler and Alex Gruber both set the fastest times in the first and third legs of the race, while Florian Clara was edged out by Michael Scheikl by just .02 on Italy’s way to victory.
Austria finished second, with Tina Unterberger and Thomas Kammerlander both setting the second runs of their respective legs, while Russia finished third.
Germany was the only team with two women running in their race, with Lisa Walch finishing out their race in fourth.
