From Calgary, CAN
(Dec. 8, 2018) – A week after a relatively disappointing team relay for Germany, the best team in Team Relay history once again moved to the top of the podium.
It was a dogfight between Germany and the United States, with the veteran duo of Tobias Wendl & Tobias Arlt out-racing the new American team of Chris Mazdzer & Jayson Terdiman to edge the United States for gold. A week prior, Germany was out-raced by Russia in a team event that Germany wins roughly 3/4 of the time.
In the same vein, the United States struggled in Whistler, only finishing sixth. One week later, the team of Summer Britcher, Tucker West and Mazdzer & Terdiman were nearly flawless on their way to a bronze medal, one spot ahead of an Austrian team who also struggled a week ago in Whistler.
Team Relay 1 winners Russia failed to find the speed that brought them a gold in Whistler, finishing fourth, ahead of Latvia and Canada.
