From Winterberg, GER
(Nov. 24, 2018) – Kilian von Schleinitz came from behind to win his first race of the season, beating out Marcus Wyatt to take gold.
Wyatt came into the second run as the race leader, with von Schleinitz off the podium. The German put down the quick run of the race in the second heat, and leapfrogged Wyatt, Felix Seibel, and Jisoo Kim on his way to a .12 second victory.
Wyatt held on for a silver medal, just .01 ahead of Seunggi Jung, who moved up from fifth place after the first heat to take bronze.
Seibel, Kim, and Dominic Rady rounded out the top six.
Craig Thompson finished eighth as the second British slider in the field, moving up from tenth on the strength of race-fastest starts in both heats.
Mike Rogals led the way for the United States in 13th place, ahead of teammates Nathan Crumpton in 15th and Stephen Garbett in 22nd.
The Canadian ICC team continued to look to improve in Europe. Patrick Rooney was the top finisher in 17th, while Kyle Murray finished tied with Russian Konstantin Khoroshko in 19th, while Mark Lynch finished in 25th.
