From Oberhof, GER
(Jan. 14, 2018) Felix Loch looked to be on his way to a gold medal one week ago, but slipped up late to fall out of contention. He rallied back in Oberhof, dominating on his way to gold.
The German was the fastest off the top of the Oberhof track, and at every timing line on the way down to cruise to a .267 second win over Russian Semen Pavlichenko.
Pavlichenko rallied from fourth after his first run to take silver, ahead of German Andi Langenhan in third.
Austrian Reinhard Egger moved up from fifth to fourth in his second run, while Roman Repilov finished fifth and Johannes Ludwig sixth.
It was a tough day for the United States men, with Tucker West leading the way with a 15th place finish. Chris Mazdzer finished 17th, while Taylor Morris finished 20th.
Canada’s Samuel Edney finished 18th as the top Canadian, Reid Watts finished 25th and Mitchel Malyk 29th.
