Gadbois Wins Third 2-Man of the Season

(Jan. 11, 2018) Geoff Gadbois won his third two-man bobsled race of the IBSF North American Cup season in Lake Placid, taking over the points lead in the process.

The American, pushed by Brent Fogt, was the quickest in both heats on his way to a .31 of a second victory over Chunjian Li of China. Gadbois came into the second run just .09 ahead of Li, but extended the lead in his second run to take gold.

Li, who was second-quickest in both heats, won his first IBSF medal with silver, while Hunter Church scored his fourth bronze medal of the season with a third place finish.

Brazilian Edson Bindilatti finished just out of the medals in fourth, while Chinese sliders Jian Jin and Yiju Shao rounded out the top six.

Taylor Austin of Canada came into the event as the tour point leader, but finished seventh, dropping to second, 14 points out of the lead going into the final two-man event on January 12th.

Americans Dustin Greenwood and Tyler Hickey finished 12th and 13th, while Jeff McKeen finished 11th in the second Canadian effort.
