Doubles Luge
Eggert & Benecken continued their winning ways, cruising to victory in the doubles luge sprint event, beating out Penz & Fischler and Sics & Sics.
The American team of Mortensen & Terdiman just missed a medal by .05, finishing fourth, while teammates Krewson & Sherk finished fifth. Oberstolz & Gruber finished sixth.

Women’s Luge
Dajana Eitberger edged Alex Gough and Natalie Geisenberger to take gold in the women’s sprint race.
The German was fifth fastest at the second intermediate split, but found speed at the bottom of the Lake Placid course that nobody else had been able to find to win gold.
Gough finished second, while Geisenberger finished third. Erin Hamlin couldn’t find speed at the bottom of the Lake Placid track, and despite a clean run finished outside of the medals in fourth.
Tatjana Hüfner finished fifth, while Kimberley McRae finished sixth.

Men’s Luge
Wolfgang Kindl was the quickest at every split on his way to a .2 second win over German Johannes Ludwig.
Taylor Morris won bronze on home ice, giving the United States its only medal in the sprint competitions.
Semen Pavlichenko finished fourth, ahead of Tucker West and Dominik Fischnaller.
