(Nov. 13, 2017) Veronica Day won her second race in as many days, leading the way on an another strong American showing.
Day carried a .08 lead over Chinese slider Chengfeng Long, and despite being out-paced in the second run by teammate Kelly Curtis, Day was able to hold onto her lead to take gold.
Curtis came into her second run in fourth place, but on the strength of a heat-best second run she was able to move to the silver medal position, .04 ahead of bronze medalist Chengfeng Long.
Asuka Noguchi finished fourth as the top Japanese slider, while Jeonoghyeok Lee and Grace Dafoe rounded out the top six.
Kristen Hurley and Mystique Ro finished ninth and 14th for the United States, with Ro setting the fast start time in each heat. Melissa-Kate Gagnon finished eighth, while teammate Janelle Khan-Nielsen finished 13th to round out the Canadian effort.
