From Whistler, CAN
(Nov. 5, 2017) Kilian von Schleinitz backed up his win in the first race of the 2017/2018 IBSF Intercontinental Cup with another gold, this time at the top of a German sweep.
von Schleinitz came into the second run .16 behind teammate Felix Keisinger, but Keisinger struggled to make speed in his second run, handing the victory to von Schlenitz.
Keisinger’s second run was sixth fastest which was enough to edge Michael Zachrau by .01. Zachrau had the fastest run in the second heat, but it wasn’t enough to move him up from third place.
Patrick Rooney moved up from fifth to fourth to lead the way for Canada, while Evgeniy Rukosuev of Russia and British slider Marcus Wyatt rounded out the top six.
Nathan Crumpton led the way for the United States in 11th, with teammates Michael Rogals and Kyle Brown finishing 16th and 19th respectively.
Evan Neufeldt helped put two Canadians in the top ten with his tenth place finish, while Paul Fraser finished 14th to round out the Canadian showing.
