From Altenberg, GER
For the final time of the 2016/2017 season, the German women battled it out on another German home track, with Natalie Geisenberger taking what amounted to a victory lap for her World Cup title.
Geisenberger did have to put in some work on her final run, however, to hold off teammates Tatjana Hüfner and Dajana Eitberger. Geisenberger was third fastest in her second run, which was enough to beat Hüfner by .071, while Hüfner leapfrogged Eitberger into the silver medal position.
Tatyana Ivanova struggled in her first run, but rallied back with the second fastest run in the second heat to move up to fourth, ahead of Latvian Eliza Cauce and Canadian Alex Gough.
Erin Hamlin was the top-finishing American in the final race of the season, finishing eighth. Teamamte Emily Sweeney finished 17th, while Canadian Kimberley McRae finished just outside of the top 10 in 11th.
