Greta Pinggera won her second race in a row, this time leading the way of an Italian sweep of the podium.
Pinggera won her second race in a row, keeping a streak active of a podium in every race of the season alive, while edging teammate Evelin Lanthaler by .34. Pinggera’s first run was the fastest of both heats, and was the only sub-55 second run.
Lanthaler had the fastest run in the second heat, closing the gap between herself and Pinggera, but it wasn’t enough to take gold.
Sara Bachmann finished third, ahead of Tina Unterberger of Austria, who came into the second run tied for second. Michelle Diepold and Daria Maleeva rounded out the top six.
With her win, Pinggera closed the gap between Lanthaler and herself to 30 points, well ahead of Unterberger. Lanthaler can clinch the overall title in Austria by finishing with a bronze medal or better.
