Results from the seventh IBSF North American Cup men’s skeleton race of the 2016/2017 season, held January 19, 2017.
Russian Pavel Kulikov edged American John Daly to take gold in Lake Placid in a race 39 men deep.
Daly came into the second run .16 ahead of Kulikov, but the Russian put down a better second trip down Mt. Van Hoevenberg to seal gold. Daly held on for silver, a tenth ahead of British slider Jeremy Rice, who finished with a bronze.
Australian John Farrow finished fourth to hold onto his North American Cup lead with one race to go, while Austrian Alexander Auer finished fifth and Vladislav Marchenkov finished sixth.
American Kyle Brown tied with British slider Kenny Howard for ninth, with American teammates Allen Blackwell and Andrew Blaser finishing 15th and 23rd respectively.
Andy White led the way for Canada with a 17th place finish, one spot ahead of teammate Mark Lynch. Kyle Murray and Taylor Purdy finished 20th and 28th, respectively.
Adam Edelman was the top-scoring slider from Israel with a 19th place finish, picking up one spot on his second run.
