From St. Moritz, SUI
Men’s skeleton results from St. Moritz, the sixth stop on the IBSF European Cup skeleton tour, held January 12, 2017:
Much like their women’s skeleton counterparts, the German men swept the podium in St. Moritz. Unlike the women, Germany put all four men in the top four.
Felix Keisinger was the fastest slider in both heats, cruising to a .38 victory over Martin Rosenberger. Rosenberger came into the second run in fifth, but a second-quickest run bumped him up the timing sheet to second, just ahead of teammate Dominic Rady, who finished with a bronze medal. Kilian von Schleinitz finished .11 out of the medals in fourth.
John Daly continued his comeback, moving from the North American Cup to the European Cup tour. The American finished fifth on the strength of two fourth-fastest runs. Russian Konstantin Khoroshko finished .8 behind Daly in sixth.
St. Moritz proved to be good to the Americans, with Alex Ivanov finishing eighth in the second American entry. Ben Robets and Jonathan Chu finished 23rd and 24th for Canada, respectively.
And much like their women’s skeleton counterparts, the British men had another good showing in St. Moritz. Craig Thompson led the way in seventh place, on the strength of the fastest start in both heats. teammate Timothy Hull finished tied for 12th with Russian Artem Drozdov.
