Felix Loch took gold yet again, this time on the same track he won Olympic gold on. The German was the fastest in both heats, and the only slider under 52 seconds to take gold ahead of Austrian Wolfgang Kindl.

Kindl came into the second heat in fifth place, but a very quick second run, coupled with some disappointing runs from the men around him, moved him into second, just ahead of Italian Dominik Fischnaller.

Stepan Fedorov was the top-finishing Russian on home ice in fourth place, ahead of Germans Ralf Palik and Italian Kevin Fischnaller.

Tucker West was the highest scoring American in eighth, just ahead of teammate Chris Mazdzer in 11th.
