Evelin Lanthaler added to an already spectacular season with the 2016 European Championship. The Italian held off a spirited charge by teammate Greta Pinngera to take gold.
Pinggera took silver on the strength of a strong first run, just barely edging Ekaterina Lavrentyeva off Russia, who took bronze.
Ludmila Astramovich finished fourth, while Sara Bachmann put three Italians in the top five with her fifth place finish. Theresa Maurer of Germany finished sixth.
