Double’s Luge
No surprise at the top of the double’s luge competition, with the team of Wendl and Arlt setting the fast time in qualifying, and backing that up with the fastest time in the sprint race to take gold on home ice. The Austrian team of Penz & Fischler took silver, ahead of Oberstolz & Gruber, who finished in the bronze position.
The biggest surprise in the event was likely the post-race disqualification of the German team of Eggert and Benecken. The team’s time was good enough for silver before the DQ.
Americans Mortensen & Terdiman scored fifth, while teammates Krewson & Sherk finished 11th. Canadians Walker & Snith finished seventh.
