From Whistler, CAN
The track in Whistler had been fast all weekend, with track records falling left and right. It was no different in women’s bobsled, where the racing was tight throughout the field.
In the first run, Kaillie Humphries, Jamie Greubel Poser, Elfje Willemsen, and Christina Hengster all went faster than the track record, with Humphries holding the lead halfway through the race. In the second run, Humphries pulled away, defending home ice and taking gold, ahead of American Jamie Greubel Poser, who finished in second.
Christina Hengster took bronze, as Elfje Willemsen crashed (but did cross the finish line) to finish seventh. Willemsen’s Belgian teammate An Vannieuwenhuyse finished a career-best fourth.
Americans Brittany Reinbolt and Nicole Vogt finished sixth and eighth, respectively.
