From Whistler, CAN
The battle between American Annie O’Shea and German Tina Hermann went into the second run separated by just .02. Both women put down seemingly perfect runs in the first heat to keep themselves far ahead of the competition.
The second run is where Hermann pulled away. Where Annie O’Shea made a small hit halfway down, Hermann was perfect, and Tina Hermann found gold for the fourth time of the 2015/2016 season. O’Shea took silver, well ahead of Jacqueline Lölling in third.
Jane Channell set a new start record and finished fourth, just outside of the medals on home ice, Sophia Griebel finished fifth to put all three Germans in the top five, while Marina Gilardoni finished sixth for Switzerland.
Elisabeth Vathje made it two Canadians in the top ten by finishing tenth, while teammate Cassie Hawrysh finished 19th. Kendall Wesenberg had a rough bottom of her second run, finishing 16th for the United States.
Micaela Widmer had a World Cup career-best finish in 11th for Switzerland, while Katie Tannenbaum finished 20th for the US Virgin Islands.
