Germany just missed out on a German 1-4 in men’s luge action, but in the Sprint World Cup they made it happen. On home ice, the Germans made it look easy, with
Chris Mazdzer finished 10th for the United States, teammate Tucker West finished 14th.

Women
The German women swept the medals in women’s Sprint Cup as well, with Natalie Geisenberger taking gold ahead of teammates Dajana Eitberger and Tatjana Hüfner. Miram Kastlunger came down third and held the lead all the way until the final three sleds, taking fourth, while Tatiana Ivanova took fifth.
Erin Hamlin and Emily Sweeney finished seventh and eight, respectively, while Summer Britcher had some trouble in turns 11 and 12 and had to settle for 12th.

Doubles
The weekend was swept in Oberhof by the Germans, with the team of Wendl & Arlt taking gold both in the doubles event and the doubles sprint event. Teammates Eggert & Benecken took silver, with Latvian team of Sics & Sics taking bronze.
The American team of Mortensen & Terdiman finished fourth, after holding the lead for six sleds. Candadians Walker & Snith finished 12th.
