From Park City, USA
Park City had two four-man events in its World Cup weekend, and in both of them weather played a major factor in the outcome. Much like in the first four-man race, the second race saw wildly erratic times throughout the field.
Overcoming the conditions was Nico Walther, who took gold for Germany, making it a German sweep of the four-man events. The winner of the first race, Max Arndt, took silver, while Rico Peter took bronze.
Francesco Friedrich finished fourth, one spot out of a German sweep, while Alexander Kasjanov and Oskars Kibermanis finished fifth and sixth.
Steven Holcomb led the way in another screwy weather race for the United States in a tie for seventh with Latvian Ugis Zalims. Teammates Nick Cunningham and Codie Bascue finished 13th and 19th, respectively.
Justin Kripps couldn’t follow up his first race in Park City with another top five run, finishing tenth. Chris Spring finished 17th and Kaillie Humphries 21st to round out the Canadian effort.
