The 2015/2016 IBSF World Cup season has been a relatively rough go of it for Max Arndt. The German hadn’t found his way to the top of the podium throughout the tour’s time in Germany, and with the World Cup traveling to North America, it seemed as though the drought would continue. Arndt, however, had other plans.
The German four-man specialist dominated the day’s racing, setting the fastest time in both heats to cruise to victory. Russian Alexander Kasjanov needed a big run to try to unseat Arndt, but only put down a fourth-fastest second run to hang on to second, ahead of Canadian Justin Kripps, to finished in the bronze position.
Lamin Deen continued his solid 2015/2016 four-man campaign in fourth place, while Rico Peter moved up one spot after his first run to fifth on the strength of a run one-tenth of a second off the pace Arndt set. Francesco Friedrich rounded out the top six.
Steven Holcomb was unable to duplicate his two-man finish from Friday, settling for an eighth place finish, one spot ahead of teammate Nick Cunningham. Codie Bascue, in the third American sled, finished 15th.
Chris Spring finished 12th in Canada II, while Kaillie Humphries made a historic first-ever run for a four-woman sled, finishing 17th. John Jackson finished 16th for Great Britain.
