From Winterberg, GER
Martins Dukurs led after the first run of Winterberg’s men’s skeleton race, and despite a quickly slowing track, the Latvian pulled away to win his second skeleton race in two tries in the 2015/2016 season.
Axel Jungk came into the second run just ahead of Russian Alexander Tretiakov, but the German couldn’t hold off the Russian Rocket, and wound up tied for silver with Tretiakov.
Sungbin Yun finished fourth after two very quick runs despite starting 12th in the first run, Christopher Grotheer finished fifth and Tomass Dukurs rounded out the top six.
Matt Antoine of the United States finished ninth, dropping two spots in his second run, and missing a top-eight by .01. Nathan Crumpton finished a World Cup career-best 18th.
Dom Parsons was the top-finishing British slider in seventh place with two very clean and quick runs. Ed Smith finished 18th as he continues to work back from two off-season surgeries, and David Swift finished in a three-way tie for 21st with Ander Mirambell of Spain and Ronald Auderset of Switzerland.
Dave Greszczyszyn led the way for Canada in 13th place, while teammate Barrett Martineau finished 17th.
