From Lake Placid, USA
The first Team Relay of the 2014/2015 season was run this weekend in Lake Placid, and Germany was the winner. The team of Geisenberger, Loch and Eggert/Benecken, all three gold medal winners this weekend were fastest in all three runs en route to setting a new track record.
The Italian team of Robatscher, D. Fischnaller and Oberstolz/Gruber worked their way up to a silver medal finish, while the Americans made it three medals in four events this weekend with a third place finish. Erin Hamlin, Tucker West and the doubles team of Matt Mortensen and Jayson Terdiman set off with a slow start, but picked it up throughout the three runs to take bronze.
